Calypso

calypso gods tempt me in dance
my tired eyes in liquor's romance
fail to see what's in front of me
your shadow meanders through the fire i see
and when the fire goes out
alone with you i'll be

your wine is dark and seductively warm
your body's fluid, amoebic in form
twisting and turning are the dreams in my head
reflecting the uncomfortable size of my lonely bed
and when you come tonight
it'll feel as if these words were never said

"don't leave me"
you're contradicting
"oh at last i have found a love
that will last for good"

on many a star i have cast this burden
to cure me of my addictions uncertain
why does my body ache for a substance i'll never consume
it's trail i refind in the scent of your perfume
and god it smells so good
and leads straight into your room

"don't leave me"
you're contradicting
"oh at last i have found a love
that will last for good"

The color of your eyes is lost
as my soul celebrates its pentacost
my world is on fire
and this holiday's adorned
for this new love is born

"don't leave me"
you're contradicting
"oh at last i have found a love
that will last for good"

"don't leave me"
Don't leave me?
Don't leave me,
I've got to leave you first.
