When deciding how to arrange this, it was clear to me this was an irish punk song. I saw a band some years ago who weren't very good but did a song based on these chords and it saying to me "rewrite me alex!" I was in a long-distance relationship at the time and whenever i got a chance to see her she was on her period and she was a weird girl who wasn't really horny on her period. In fact, knowing that she was bleeding was a huge turn-off to her and my frustrations grew. In an attempt to focus my distracting desires, i wrote this song and when i played it for her the only thing she could say interupting her heavy breathing was 'that was really hot'. Punk songs are traditionally as fast as you can play them, but most punk songs are rebelious songs, the hero overcoming or falling short of some terrible obsticle 'the man' put him in. This, however, is a sex song. Any woman will tell you that super fast sex isn't as fun as slow feel-every-part-of-you sex, so clearly this song couldn't be blazing fast. it had to be hauntingly slow, frustatingly slow flirting with annoyingly slow so that you get turned on immediately and the tension pulls you from the beginning to the end, when you explode.
